Plunder Hell, Populate Heaven: Why the Ones Who Send Share the Victory
David's law at Ziklag says those who guard the supplies share the plunder. The mission Daniel and Katie Ziedins carry through e3 Canada — and how to stand in it.
Jesus did not build a church that hides behind its gates. He built one that storms them. This is the story of a mission that started on the streets of one Canadian city, the war it is waging for people Jesus died for, and why the people who pray and give are as much a part of the victory as the people who go.
On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Gates are not weapons. Gates are defences.
Read that verse slowly. Gates do not attack anyone. They stand still and try to keep something in. When Jesus says the gates of Hades will not overcome His church, He is picturing a church on the move — going on the offensive, walking up to the walls that hold people captive, and finding that those walls cannot hold.
That is what Paul was sent to do. Jesus told him he would open eyes and turn people "from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God" (Acts 26:18). Every person who comes to Jesus is someone carried out of one kingdom and into another — "rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into the kingdom of the Son he loves" (Colossians 1:13). That is what we mean when we say plunder hell and populate heaven. Not bravado. Rescue.
Jesus said a strong man's house can only be plundered once he is tied up (Mark 3:27). At the cross, He tied him up. Now His people go in and bring out the captives, one name, one conversation, one street at a time.
It started on one street in Hamilton
In 2014, Daniel and Katie Ziedins started Love on Hamilton — simply going out onto the streets of their city to share Jesus, pray for people and love them well. What began as a few believers became, in their words on KD-Ziedins.com, more than fifty people coming together every week to evangelize in Hamilton.
As more weekly outreach teams formed in other places, Love on The World was born — the network this site exists to serve. In 2022 they launched Overflow, a Sunday-evening gathering where the Holy Spirit is given full permission, and they have watched salvations, healings and baptisms follow. They have now been in full-time ministry for more than twelve years.
None of it was built on a stage. It was built on a sidewalk, by ordinary believers who decided that evangelism is a lifestyle — available, everywhere, to everyone.
Freely you have received; freely give.
The mission now: equip, activate, multiply
Daniel and Katie serve on staff with e3 Ministry Canada and partner with I Am Second, with one aim: to equip believers to evangelize and establish multiplying, life-changing churches around the world. The model is simple enough to carry anywhere:
Train ordinary believers to share the Gospel clearly, pray for people on the spot and follow up faithfully — the same tools you'll find in our evangelism field guide.
Get them out of the room and onto the streets, together, every week — because people learn evangelism by doing it, not by hearing about it.
Raise up new leaders who start new groups in new cities. Their latest mission through Evangelize.World is 100 multiplying outreach groups — anywhere, everywhere.
It is also why they helped carry Jesus Festival in Hamilton's Gage Park in September 2026, a free public celebration of Jesus — and why they believe, as they write, that Canada is on the brink of its greatest revival. Revivals are not only prayed for. They are prepared for, by people who are trained and already in the streets when God moves.
David's law at Ziklag
There is a story in 1 Samuel 30 every partner in the Gospel should know. Raiders burned David's town and carried off every family. David pursued with six hundred men, but two hundred were too exhausted to cross the ravine, so they stayed behind with the supplies. The four hundred went on, won the battle and recovered everything.
On the way back, some of the fighters said the ones who stayed behind should get nothing. David refused. He made it a law in Israel from that day on:
The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.
That is the Kingdom economy. The person who prays at their kitchen table, the person who gives every month, the person who goes onto the street — all of them share the same reward. When someone gives their life to Jesus at an outreach in Hamilton, a partner hundreds of kilometres away has a share in that joy. Heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7), and so do the ones who sent the messenger.
Goers and senders are one army
Paul asked the question that makes every sender necessary: "How can anyone preach unless they are sent?" (Romans 10:15). The Gospel has always moved this way. Moses won at Rephidim while Aaron and Hur held up his tired arms (Exodus 17:12). Paul thanked the Philippians for their "partnership in the gospel from the first day until now" (Philippians 1:5) and told them their giving was credited to their account (Philippians 4:17). John said we ought to support workers like these, "so that we may work together for the truth" (3 John 1:8).
The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few (Matthew 9:37–38). Some are called to go. Some are called to hold up arms. Most are called to both. Nobody is called to watch.
Those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Three ways to stand with us
Pray for Daniel and Katie, their family and the teams they lead. Pray for open doors, bold mouths and the people who will hear the Gospel this week. Use our prayer walk builder to pray over your own streets too.
Give monthly through e3 Ministry Canada's staff page for Daniel and Katie. Gifts are received by e3 Ministry Canada, and monthly partners are prayed for by name every day and receive regular updates from the field. See the details on our partner page.
Join a weekly outreach in your city, or start a Love on [Your City] group with coaching from people who have done it for years. The fastest way to carry this mission is to live it.
Stand with Daniel and Katie as they equip believers and plant multiplying outreach groups across Canada and beyond. Giving is handled securely by e3 Ministry Canada.
The gates will not hold
Somewhere tonight there is a person who has never heard the Gospel in words they understand. Somewhere a team is getting ready to walk out of their front door and find them. The only question for the rest of us is whether we will cross the ravine with them, or guard the supplies so they can — because either way, David's law still stands. All will share alike.
